Candidate Filing Period

November 11-December 11, 2023. 


Eligibility Requirements for all public offices 

Basic Qualifications for a non-judicial office are:

  • US Citizenship

  • Texas Resident--minimum of 12 months

  • Resident of the Territory -- minimum 6 months.

  • Registered to vote in the district you are running for--minimum of 6 months

  • 18 years of age or older

  • No final judgment indicating:

    • Totally mentally incapacitated

    • Partially mentally incapacitated without the right to vote.

  • No final felony conviction:

    • Unless pardoned or released from resulting disabilities

    • NOTE: If pardoned or released from the resulting disabilities, then must provide proof of the pardon or release.

For copies of Candidate Finance Reports, prior to September 1st, 2023 please contact the Erath County Clerk's Office. 


Records that have not been closed are available indefinitely. Records that are closed are destroyed two years after the closing/final report has been filed.
